Bacon, Onion And Cheese Chowder

Bacon, Onion & Cheese Chowder

In a snack size bag:
2 Tbsp diced dried onions
1/4 tsp dice dried garlic

In a snack size bag:
2 tbsp flour
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
3/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce powder

Also take in small bags:
1 cup dry milk
1 3-ounce package freeze-dried cheese
3 Tbsp shelf stable crumbled bacon or bacon bits

Also take:
1 packet oil (1 Tbsp)

Heat the oil over low heat in your pot. Saute onions till done and turning golden brown. Blend in flour, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Cook while stirring for a minute for the flour to cook. Add in the bacon. Gradually add 3 cups water, stirring constantly. Blend in the dry milk. Bring up the heat and let come to a boil, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened. Turn off the heat and add in the cheese. Stir well and let sit covered for 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Serves 2 large appetites or 3 normal sized ones.
