Book Finds This Week

I hit the bonanza this week at our local libraries library guild book sale. Not only did I score guidebooks I didn’t have I also found a vintage copy of an outdoor cookbook – and I paid a meager 50¢ a book for nearly all of them. I get good books and the library guild gets money. Win-win to me!

So what did I find?

The 1974 printing of this still in print book: Roughing It Easy – A Unique Ideabook for Camping and Cooking. This was also added to our Trail Cookbook collection.

Working on the finishing of my collection of the original series, this is a 1970 edition. 101 Hikes in the North Cascades.

1952 edition and I found a perfectly preserved bird feather tucked inside. Exploring nature with your child: An introduction to the enjoyment and understanding of nature.

1991 edition. Quick Escapes Pacific Northwest, 7th: Getaways from Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver, B.C. (Quick Escapes Series).

2003 edition. Washington Off the Beaten Path, 7th (Off the Beaten Path Series).

1984 edition. Bicycling the Backroads of Northwest Oregon.

  1. When I was growing up we had a copy of “Roughing it Easy”. That is a COOL book! So many clever and cheap ideas of how to cook things. Lots of fun can be had by reading this book and trying out the suggestions. Practically a must for cub scout and boy scout leaders because it’s so cool it get’s kids attention.
