Food Find & New Recipe

As a long-time fan/user of Navitas products I was excited to try out their new line of Smoothie Mixers being sold exclusively at Williams-Sonoma. The line has 3 blends of whole-foods, that can be used in smoothies, but also added to drinks, yogurt, used to replace part of the flour in recipes and for me, a nice change to a bowl of oats, which work great for the trail.

Very filling, high in fat and protein, these oats prepare quickly and will keep you going throughout your morning.

Protein & Coconut Oats

Pack in a snack bag –

At Home –

Mark bag “Add 1 cup water”. Bring along a packet of raw sugar, maple sugar, coconut palm sugar or honey. Add to taste.

On trail, One Pot Method –

Bring 1 cup water to boil in a small pot. Add in oat mixture, lower flame and gently cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Let cool a bit and enjoy.

Serves 1.

FBC / Insulated Mug Method:

Use unsweetened PLAIN instant oats instead. For FBC, pack ingredients in a pint freezer bag. Add near boiling water to bag, stir and enjoy. For IMM pack in a snack bag, add to mug and stir in boiling water, let cool a bit and enjoy.

  1. HI Sarah

Do you know if the Navitas range is available in stores in Australia? I have googled it but can’t find anything. I would like to put this in the trail bars I make. Currently i just put normal protein powder in but would love to try this.

    Thank you for your help

  2. I looked over on Amazon & Navitas website, just to see what the products said – and they seem to be all marked “only for shipment in the US”.

We'd love to hear your thoughts!
