Late Winter Stocking Time

With winter (hopefully) waning, my mind is dreaming of spring and summer trips. Which means it was high-time to go through my non-existent section of “hiking food” in our pantry. In the past 3 years a lot of it was morphed into our regular pantry. So it was time to start over. Which isn’t a bad thing. It is kind of neat to start over from scratch. Up first was a quick order from Minimus.

Over the years Minimus has not failed me. Their shipping is fast (and free if you order $20 or more). And my order even came a day early. They take packaging seriously – items that could break or crush (crackers, chips) are packed in little boxes. I picked up a lot of items I either hadn’t had in a while or had not tried yet. In the above photo Walker (The Toddler) grabbed the bottle of green Tabasco sauce and ran off with it. It was his he decided. The small bottle next to it is an unrefined sea salt, with a little pour spout.

From shelf-stable cream cheese to Nutella to the toppings for oatmeal, I am well covered.

Minimus is also great for stocking up a sad-looking first aid kit, that has been pilfered one too many times –

My dry vegetables are up next. A lot to get done! Spring is nearly here 🙂
