Menu: Spa Nibbles with a side of bug spray

You are a hiker who likes the finer things in life, even if it means packing in wine in your backpack. You want fresh foods. You are there for the views, the company, the fresh air. Yes, it might only have been a 3 mile hike in, but your classical music is playing softly, your tent lights are twinkling and dear god, is your hiking partner gnawing on a summer sausage log? Gah! They must be shown that they can do better, and packing in a can of Beanie Weenies is not ever a good thing….

Lavender Granola (carry shelf stable single serving Tetra packs of your favorite non-dairy milk, or bring along a quality powdered milk)

In Your Face Mochas

Before you break camp, make a batch of this to quench your thirst. Lemons pack well.

Maple Lemonade

Backwoods Whoopie Pies

Tuna & Avo Sammies

One Pot Chickpea Pasta

Chocolate Chia Seed Pudding

Have a wonderful and memorable Memorial Day Weekend! And enjoy your food and your views. PS: If you are looking for nifty single serving items, check out Minimus’s “gourmet food” section.

  1. Thanks so much for sharing. I love the chia seed pudding. I’ve been making your trail recipes for years and I don’t know if I’ve ever popped in to say how awesome they are. We would be the Beanie Weenie people if it weren’t for you.

  2. I never saw anything like Backwoods Whoopie Pies before, they look odd yet tasty at the same time, i bookmarked the recipe and will make them this weekend. I’ll come back to say how it went. Thanks!
