Cherry and Hemp Breakfast Rice & D’vash Date Nectar

We paired the date nectar with rice, coconut milk, cherries & hemp seeds for a morning meal, that is a bit different from oatmeal. It is also allergy friendly, since we don’t keep tree nuts or sunflower seeds in the house due to our youngest son’s allergies, we have found hulled hemp seeds to be a great substitute. It is getting more common to find in many stores , though Amazon is the easiest source. Hemp is considered to safe for drug tests if you are concerned, before consuming. Cherry and Hemp Breakfast Rice

Bring ½ cup + 2 Tbsp water to a boil in a small pot with 2 sticks worth of the date nectar or honey. Add in dry ingredients, stir and cover. Take off heat and let sit for 10 minutes. If at altitude, or in cooler weather, insulate with a pot cozy.

Stir well, top with hemp seeds and remaining stick of sweetener.

Serves 1.
