Meal Review: Market Pasta Puttanesca
From Packit Gourmet comes Market Pasta Puttanesca, an easy to prepare one pot meal.
From Packit Gourmet’s website:
“100% Organic Whole Wheat Pasta simmered in a rich zesty tomato sauce and a “market basket” full of vegetables: asparagus, carrots, celery, green peppers, mushrooms, spinach and zucchini. This quick-cooking one-pot meal is both hearty and delicious!”
Ford and I tried it out today on our hike today for a quick lunch.
With the easy to follow directions I got the water on to boil in my GSI Soloist set while measuring the water to make the sauce (it is prepped with cold water and sits while you boil the pasta).
The sauce is sitting doing its thing, bag of freeze dried veggies waiting for its turn and the pasta simmering.
The view from lunch – Shadow Lake at Mt. Rainier.
Pasta tossed with veggies, sauce and Parmesan cheese (included). The smell was very good. The taste even better!
With anything….if it doesn’t get by this taste tester……
Who I might add ate 2/3rds of the pot. He loves veggies and it was pasta so someone chowed down.
Very easy to make – all you need is a small pot and 2 1/2 cups water. Everything else is included. Fantastic flavor, whole wheat pasta – Ford claimed it needed meat, but meh, he thinks everything needs meat 😉
